Guido Petruzzi Fine Art

Guido Petruzzi

Italian born Guido Petruzzi is a retired executive from the New York City Fashion Industry. He built 17th and 18th century reproduction English furniture as a hobby until he moved to South Carolina, where he began painting en plein air or in his studio, first,on Hilton Head Island and now, in historic downtown Charleston.

Oil is Guido's medium of choice. He studied privately with Morgan Samuel Price, James Sulkowski and Scott Burdick, and continued to hone his skills in workshops with plein air painters Matt Smith, John Budicin, Ken Auster, Ralph Oberg and George Strickland. His paintings are in private collections in Italy, Germany, Brasil, Canada and in many U.S. cities.

17th century Dutch landscape artists and 18th century painters of the Hudson River Valley School have definetely influenced his strive to capture atmospheric conditions...but Guido's paintings are surely infused with the vibrant color of the Low Country.
